Santorini, Greece Day 2 – Red Beach, Traditional Village and Excavation Site

After our breakfast, we took a walk around the area and decided we would explore the island while it’s bright and sunny. Rain was expected later on in the day.

The grey clouds were hovering over us at this point

We also caught sight of a double rainbow after the rain stopped 🙂

We headed towards a traditional village afterwards and the village was empty. Eugenia told us the village is where locals lived, so it’s less picturesque but nevertheless, worth visiting.

Our next stop was visiting the excavation site.

We drove down to the red beach after that. The red colour is a result of chemical reactions from the nearby volcanoes.
