Summer Road Trip Day 4: Montreal, Quebec

We stayed overnight at Mont Tremblanc and the next morning, we headed off to Montreal. The rain was starting to pour during our drive and didn’t stop until late afternoon. We visited The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Museum and spent about 3-4 hours there. The museum provided iPads with commentaries for a lot of the information displayed. It was very informative and there was a lot to see.

We hadn’t eaten anything all day, so after our visit to the museum, we were getting quite hungry. Bill made a reservation at Liverpool House at 9pm, so the timing was a bit weird since it was already 4pm, we were hungry, but didn’t want to eat too much. Bill found a restaurant called “Dinette Triple Crown” that served Southern US food like fried chicken, briskets, etc.

Bill had the pink lemonade and I ordered the Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half tea).

We shared the 5 piece fried chicken and added a smoked beef brisket and also a biscuit.

The chicken was very juicy, tender and delicious. The smoked beef brisket was alright. They also have their own home made bbq sauce, mustard and hot sauce available at each table.

For dinner, we headed towards Liverpool House, right beside Joe Beef. Bill initially wanted to make reservations at Joe Beef since he heard that it was rated one of the top 100 restaurants in the world. We weren’t able to make a reservation there, but he managed to get us a table at one of their “sister” restaurants, Liverpool House. Both restaurants are right beside each other.

We started off with one of their drinks. Raspberry lemonade with rum and blueberry syrup.

We heard good things about the salad there. The portions here are quite large!

This is the Foie Gras Dejeuner. It’s a breakfast sandwich with foie gras in the middle and drenched in maple syrup. This looked really good and it was delicious.

We decided to share the Lobster with Spaghetti. Bill really liked this one, but I thought it was just ok. It’s not something I would normally order, but this is one of the more popular dishes there so we decided to give it a try. Bill likes to order seafood at restaurants and I like to order meat. I was too full to order another main for myself!

I’ve ran out of storage for pictures on wordpress, so I won’t be able to post until that issue is resolved. Hopefully I’ll be able to post again in the next couple of days!

Thanks for reading!
