Summer Road Trip Day 3: Mont Tremblanc, Quebec

We initially planned on staying in Ottawa for one more night, but we weren’t able to book any accommodation in Ottawa for the third night because a Women’s FIFA World Cup game was coming to the city. I’ve always wanted to visit Mont Tremblanc as I’d seen a lot of pictures on the internet and it looks really pretty.

The ride to Mont Tremblanc was very pretty, I didn’t take any pictures since I was the one driving. In fact, I didn’t take any pictures in the village either because that place was pretty empty. Ironman was going to be held on the mountain 2 days later so I’m pretty sure it was just the “calm before the storm” and the place would be packed. It’s weird that normally I prefer going to places that are less crowded, but the emptiness of the village gave me a really weird vibe.

After strolling around the village, it was time for dinner. We went to a restaurant called “SEb L’Artisan”. It’s a French restaurant and we went for the 4 course menu and also added a foie gras appetizer as well. The foie gras was a special item that day and was $21. It’s expensive, but it was full of flavor and one of the best foie gras I’ve had in a while.

We started off with an amuse-bouche, heirloom tomatoes with balsamic and mozzarella. I’m not a generally not a big fan of tomatoes, but this was an excellent start to the wonderful dishes to follow. It actually changed the way I felt about eating tomatoes!

Next up was a beef tataki salad with baby bok choi and udon. Yummy.

The foie gras we added to the meal.

I had the duck breast and Bill had the white tuna:

Finally, dessert. The 4 course meal came with a strawberry profiterole and it was divine. Bill went for the cream cheese creme caramel.

This was one of the best French restaurants we have been to. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Such a memorable dinner!
