Hong Kong: Tsui Wah(翠華), Crystal Jade (翡翠), Red and Bairin (梅林)

Due to jet lag, I woke up at 4am the first morning (and pretty much every morning afterwards). I decided to bring Bill to a 24 hour Hong Kong Style Restaurant (茶餐廳 – “cha chan teng”).

Tsui Wah is famous for their condensed milk bun. Bill also ordered a milk tea/coffee (Ying Yang).

Afterwards, we went to meet up with wyjj and dad at home and headed out to Causeway Bay for Shanghai food at Crystal Jade.

Bill and I both got the “Dan Dan Noodles”. Mine was not as spicy so the color is a bit lighter than Bill’s. We also ordered mini pork dumplings.

Later on in the evening, all four of us walked around Central, which has a good mix of old and new buildings and streets all in one place.

This is one of the famous old streets in Hong Kong.

This is the escalator that runs all the way from downtown Central to the residential Mid Levels area.

I was going to meet with April later that evening. She got off work at a later time, so we decided to head to a restaurant for dinner before I met up with April.

We came here for the Japanese style pork cutlets. I don’t normally like deep fried foods, but the Japanese style cutlets are really good.

I had the regular pork cutlets and Bill had curry with cutlets. The cutlets were just as good as the ones I had in Japan. One thing I noticed is that a lot of Japanese restaurants opened stores in Hong Kong selling the same foods. It’s a good way to satisfy Japanese food cravings if you live in Hong Kong.

After dinner at the IFC, which is the mall where the restaurant was in, we took the elevator down to the airport express station to meet up with April who just got off work!

My sister recommended a bar called Red, which is also at IFC.

This is where I had my first molten lava cake. They call it chocolate pudding here. It was delicious and I am inspired to make my own one day.

After dinner, we went out to take some pictures. So great to meet up with April again. It’s been hard keeping in touch being in a long distance relationship, but we both know we have each others’ back no matter where we are 🙂
